The Voluntary Organisations Internet Server (VOIS) has been set up to host charities’ Web sites in the UK.
VOIS, the Voluntary Organisations Internet Server, has launched, offering Web hosting services for a variety of UK charity sites. It is designed to offer a low cost, all-in-one solution for charities wondering how and where to create a Web site.
Although there is a good range of tools available, including discussion groups, questionnaires, and a “what’s new” page, there is hardly any emphasis on using Web sites to raise funds. Charities are encouraged at seeing the Web as simply a one-way publishing vehicle.
