Pioneering fundraiser Harold Sumption died on 18th March. His influence on fundraising in the UK and beyond is unparalleled.
As well as pioneering fundraising techniques with Oxfam and many other charities, he also founded the International Fundraising Workshop in Holland, which is now in its eighteenth year.
In a tribute, Professional Fundraising magazine called Harold “the grandfather of British fundraising”, and described him as “that old-fashioned thing: a good man”.
