Disaster-relief information service AlertNet has relaunched today with a new look. The partnership between Reuters Foundation and a group of leading technology companies has enabled some significant developments on the AlertNet site.

Users can see the latest headlines from anywhere on the site, and donors can now give online, a service enhanced by AIDfund, a rapid response fund to provide immediate assistance to relief agencies as soon as disaster strikes. AlertNet is already working with the European Commission to introduce a service of satellite images of disaster zones or endangered areas.
