RSPB launches 550,000 member appeal on Cliffe airport protest

Say 'No airport at Cliffe!' with the RSPB

Half a million members of RSPB will receive a special appeal next week urging them to join its high profile protest against the proposal for an airport at Cliffe in Kent that threatens to destroy important coastal wetland habitats.
The appeal, developed by charity-specialist direct marketing agency Whitewater, aims to both raise funds for the RSPB’s campaigning work and generate tens of thousands of personal messages of protest to the Government from RSPB members.
This activity is just one part of a multi-faceted ‘No airport at Cliffe’ campaign planned by the RSPB in response to the Government’s consultation on the future of aviation in the UK. This included the proposal to build a new airport twice the size of Heathrow on the internationally recognised wildlife site in North Kent.
“This is a campaign that will be of relevance to every one of our members”, explained Liz Rose at the RSPB.
