Animal charity introduces interactive display board in reception

Wood Green Animal Shelters is one of the first charities to install an interactive billboard in its reception area.

The screen, developed by Visual Planet, allows users to go on a virtual tour of the centre, access Web information, maps, and colourful digital images, by simply pressing a finger against the screen.

The Godmanchester-based charity also plans to use the interactive billboard for promotion during corporate events, and to raise revenue through sponsorship. More than 400,000 visitors flock to the site each year.

Vernon Spencer, Technical Director at Visual Planet, says the benefits of installing an interactive display are immense. He added: “It offers a unique opportunity to grab attention and promote services, while you have a visitor’s undivided attention. It can transform any reception or conference area no matter the size.”

Blair McPhee, Events Manager at WGAS, believes the display is a novel way to promote the charity and generate revenue.
