New Rangers signings Paolo Vanoli and Henning Berg teamed up with Taggart star, James MacPherson, to unfurl a commemorative flag to mark the start of a year-long partnership between Rangers Charity Foundation and its three new nominated charities, Alzheimer Scotland, Variety Club of Scotland and Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice.

This season the Foundation aims to exceed the £60,000 raised last season in support of the work of these organisations.

The Foundation was established in October 2002 to assist a range of charities and other worthwhile causes. In July 2003 £60,000 was donated to three national charities for projects across Scotland.

The Foundation will also assist other charities, where possible, particularly organisations that address social inclusion issues, encourage tolerance and an understanding of the beliefs of all sectors of the community, education and the needs of children. It also brings thousands of terminally ill, disabled and disadvantaged children and adults into the Stadium for matches, tours and to meet the Rangers players.
