New Managing Director at Blackbaud

Paul Steadman, former MD of AppealMaster, is to lead Blackbaud’s European operation.

Blackbaud, the technology solutions provider to to non-profit organisations and educational institutions, has announced that Paul Steadman is to be the new Managing Director of the company’s European activities. Steadman takes over from Walter Miller who left the firm to pursue other interests.

The founder and former Managing Director of AppealMaster, the UK-based fundraising solution Blackbaud acquired in July of 2002, Steadman had previously worked on helping former AppealMaster users transfer to the Blackbaud product. He was also providing input on the future development of The Raiser’s Edge®, the company’s fundraising software.

“Paul Steadman brings a wealth of experience to Blackbaud, both in terms of technology and the unique needs of non-profit organisations,” said Robert J. Sywolski, CEO of Blackbaud. “His strong background in consultancy will be an incredible asset as we increasingly help non-profits not only better implement technology solutions, but also achieve better fundraising results.”

Steadman will work out of the firm’s Glasgow office. He began his career in practice as a Chartered Accountant, specialising in providing business consultancy advice to small-and-medium-sized organisations wanting to maximize the advantage gained from information technology. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and has served as Consultant Editor for the organisation’s magazine, Practical IT.
