Free seminar on developing Web sites for voluntary organisations

Howard Lake | 6 April 2004 | News

The Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fund is hosting a free seminar on developing Web sites for the voluntary sector, and inviting interest particularly from charities, trusts and foundations that target young people.

The seminar will look at how charities can better understand the significance and complex practicalities of moving a charitable service online. It will provide practical ./guidance and advice for voluntary organisations working with young people and for grant givers who support or may be considering support for projects involving the World Wide Web.

The event will highlight findings from a two-year research programme by City University’s CIBER Centre into the effectiveness and accessibility of Web sites for young people.

The seminar will be held on 10 May 2004 from 12.00 – 16.00 at The Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fund, County Hall, London SE1.

Both the seminar and the report are part of the Fund’s ongoing commitment to evaluate the impact of its grants in terms of their accessibility and impact on helping young people. The seminar is one of the first in an ongoing discussion about key issues relating to the voluntary sector and the digital environment this year.
