Three charities collaborate to maximise income from conference resources

Howard Lake | 9 May 2004 | News

Three Stockport charities are working together to increase their combined income from their meeting rooms.

Royal Schools for the Deaf, Boys and Girls Welfare Society and St Ann’s Hospice are pooling their combined resources to offer a referral and booking service to outside clients looking for meeting space.

Each organisation’s facilities are sufficient to offer a variety of spaces, equipment and services, to most clients. However, if there is no availability at a client’s preferred venue, the booking will be referred to one of the other two establishments, thereby retaining the client’s business within the trio of conference centres.

The venues are within three miles of each other and are located near to the M60/M56 motorway network.

Generating additional sustainable income from a charity’s buildings and other physical assets is a sound development, but these three organisations demonstrate that collaboration in this area could yield even higher income.
