CHASE speaker to cover VAT and Gift Aid on fundraising events

Helen Elliott from Sayer Vincent will present a session on “Making the most of VAT and gift aid on fundraising events” at next month’s CHASE exhibition.
Helen will go over the tax and VAT rules affecting fundraising events, and then look at some examples on how charities might manage the inter-connection between Gift Aid and VAT to maximise both.
Her premise will be that, while fundraising events are generally exempt from tax and VAT, without careful planning they “can
actually cost your charity more than they need to.”

The short session will be held at 12.30 on Wednesday 15 February 2006 at CHASE at the Business Design Centre in London’s Islington.
