Charity Awards 2006 open for nominations

Nominations can now be made for this year’s Charity Awards, designed to recognise excellence in leadership and management among charities of all sizes throughout the UK.
Organised by Charity Finance magazine, the awards are open to UK charities registered with the Charity Commission in England and Wales or with the Inland Revenue in Scotland and Northern Ireland.
The awards are decided by an independent panel of judges, who will be looking for examples of excellence in charity management which will inspire others, and from which other organisations can learn.

To enter you will need to describe a management initiative which has improved the delivery of your charitable objectives. This initiative may cover either the work of your whole organisation or the work of part of your organisation, such as a department, project or function.
There are ten categories of awards, together with an Overall Excellence in Charity Management Award, and a a Judges’ Discretionary Award for charity effectiveness.
There is also an Outstanding Achievement Award to an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to excellence in charities over time. Successful nominees will have qualities such as innovation, influence and inspiration.
Every category winner will receive a place on a week long residential leadership development course provided by The Leadership Trust. Each winner will also receive a specially designed trophy.
Nominations close on 17 March 2006 and presentations will be made at a black tie dinner in London on 15 June.
