Macmillan Cancer Support CEO to leave

After five years as chief executive, Peter Cardy will be leaving cancer care charity Macmillan Cancer Support at the end of the year.

Under Cardy’s ‘s leadership, Macmillan has developed and grown significantly. He steered many changes at Macmillan, including the charity’s rebrand as Macmillan Cancer Support in April 2006.

Jamie Dundas, Macmillan’s Chairman, said:
“Macmillan Cancer Support owes Peter a considerable debt of gratitude for his dedicated and highly committed service as our Chief Executive over the past five years. He leaves with our thanks and our very best wishes for his future.”

Judy Beard, Director of Fundraising, Marketing and Communications, will act as interim CEO from 1 January until a permanent appointment is made.
