Festive Boost for Charities from easyfundraising.org.uk

Howard Lake | 21 February 2007 | Newswire

easyfundraising.org.uk, the online charity shopping portal, has announced record charitable donations over the 2006 Christmas period.
Online shoppers who registered with the fundraising site raised over £30,000 for charities and not for profit organisations in the key Christmas trading period of October to December 2006.
easyfundraising.org.uk is a free service which allows supporters of charities, voluntary groups and not for profit organisations to raise money by shopping online with over 350 brand name retailers. A donation of up to 15% of the purchase price is made to the shoppers’ chosen cause every time they buy online.
Retailers featured on easyfundraising include NEXT, Amazon, M&S, DELL and PLAY.com, with more joining each month.
Over 2,500 charitable groups have signed up to easyfundraising, enabling their supporters to raise funds for them simply by shopping online. easyfundraising has processed over 40,000 charitable donations since its launch in October 2005.
David Butler of easyfundraising said, easyfundraising.org.uk is designed to help charities and voluntary organisations raise much needed funds just by shopping online. It is often hard for groups to continually ask their supporters to put their hands in their pockets but as so many people shop online as a matter of course, this is the perfect way for groups to harness that trend. We are pleased that so many groups have benefited from shopping with us over the Christmas period.”
