Blooming marvellous! Addenbrooke's offers the chance to "Name a Rose"

Everyone loves to receive flowers. So what better way to brighten someone’s day, than by naming a rose after them? The Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust (act), the charity behind Addenbrooke’s Hospital, has teamed up with World of Roses to offer one lucky winner the chance to Name a Rose” as part of its Breast Unit Appeal.
Whether it be to mark a birthday, remember an anniversary, or simply name a flower after that special somebody, this is your chance to win a truly unique gift. The lucky competition winner will receive 20 plants of their personalised rose, along with a signed certificate and photograph of authenticity.
To be in with a chance of winning, simply complete a competition ticket with your chosen name and return to The Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust. Tickets cost £5 and can be bought by emailing

Tickets for the Name a Rose” competition will also be available to buy at The Rose Weekend at Hatfield House on 16th & 17th June 2007. A donation from the Name a Rose” competition and The Rose Weekend will be given to the Addenbrooke’s Breast Unit Appeal. The appeal is aiming to raise £600,000, to furnish and equip a new purpose built breast cancer research unit at Addenbrooke’s, with high-tech diagnostic and medical equipment.
