BOLLYWOOD COMES TO BANNTYNE’S FOR
ST TERESA’S HOSPICE
16/05/07
St Teresa’s Hospice in Darlington has raised more than £2,000 in a special Bollywood-themed fundraising night, held at the town’s glamorous Hotel Bannatyne.
The invitation-only event, which took place on Friday, featured authentic cuisine, Bollywood style dancing and special fundraising table games, all designed to transport guests into the vibrant world of Indian film.
Proceeds from the six-hour extravaganza, which totalled £2397 in ticket sales, raffles and games, will now go towards the Hospice’s ‘Half a Million Hugs’ campaign, raising funds for a brand new Counselling and Complementary therapies Centre, which will enable St Teresa’s to increase its range of counselling and complimentary therapy services, including a brand new service designed to support children who have been bereaved.
Hospice director, Jane Bradshaw, said: The world of Bollywood is so vibrant and exotic that it was a real pleasure to bring a taste of it to the heart of Darlington. I would like to say a huge thank you to the staff at Hotel Bannatyne for allowing us to use their facilities free of charge and I hope that everyone who attended thoroughly enjoyed the spectacle on offer.”
