The point of legacy fundraising is…..

Howard Lake | 21 July 2007 | Blogs

Its about death, surely that’s the point said my friend. She was somehow right and yet so wrong. I had begun a journey to think, find out, understand and make a difference in legacies.
We had looked at what others were doing. We had looked at what we had done. We had taken inspiration from colleagues, other charities, our donors. We had thought about where we wanted to go. But more importantly, we had started with some questions. Some prejudices, yes. Some ideas, definately. We wanted to take some time to get back to the very core of giving through your last will and testament. In an age when most of us believe that dying is for everyone else, what could we learn that would enable us to rediscover some core essence that for many seems lost. What could we do that might reinvent it, how could we engage and inspire, how could we find a way that makes it easy even exciting.
I have set this blog up to explore. The views expressed here are mine and not the NSPCC’s. They are a way to share what we learn as we go. To test what works and what doesnt. To discuss and challenge, to laugh, to share stories, frustrations, break throughs, to rediscover. Enjoy the journey….
