COMMITTED CYCLISTS RIDE FOR CHARITY
15/08/2007

A group of up to 40 cyclists rode 85 miles around the Darlington and North Yorkshire areas to raise funds for Darlington-based St Teresa’s Hospice.

They raised £550 for St Teresa’s Hospice and the cyclists are very pleased with all the support they got from sponsors.

Robert Nash, one of the fundraisers and a dedicated cyclist, said: “St Teresa’s Hospice is an extremely important charity to many people and everyone involved in the event were proud to support their work.
The Hospice played a role close to my own heart and were there for support through out an aunt’s recent illness.”

The route started at Darlington’s Market Square, outside the Dolphin Centre. The cyclists rode to Leyburn, then on to Richmond, finally taking a route back to Darlington.

St Teresa’s Hospice Director Jane Bradshaw said: “We would like to thank everyone who took part in the cycle ride to raise funds for the Hospice and also to all those who gave generously. Every donation received makes a huge difference to the support we can give to those who need it.”

St Teresa’s Hospice relies mostly on public contributions in order to continue their support and activities for the local community.
