Weight Watchers raise £500,000 for British Heart Foundation

Howard Lake | 10 November 2007 | News

Members of weight management organisation Weight Watchers have raised half a million pounds in two years, as part of a four-year fundraising partnership with the British Heart Foundation (BHF).

Weight Watchers members were encouraged to help raise pounds while they lost them by donating spare change in their meetings. In addition, various fundraising activities have taken place across the UK including sponsored walks, raffles and donations from various products sold in Weight Watchers meetings.

Melanie Stubbing, Senior Vice President, Weight Watchers UK said: “Our relationship with the BHF has raised awareness of the benefits of leading a healthier lifestyle and many of our members have become more active through taking part in sponsored walks. With two more years of fundraising to go, we think there’ll be plenty more to celebrate in the future too.”
