Outdoor fundraising code of practice to be developed

Three Peaks Race 2008

The Institute of Fundraising is inviting applications from individuals interested in developing the ‘Outdoor Fundraising in the UK’ Code of Fundraising Practice. The Code includes a specific section about the Three Peaks Challenge, and the Institute says that it aims to take on board concerns about such events expressed by organisations affected by this activity.

Members of the working party should have:
– Experience of organising outdoor fundraising events in the UK;
– Knowledge of Institute of Fundraising Codes of Fundraising Practice;
– Ability to think creatively and analytically about communicating sometimes complex messages about fundraising;
– Ability to commit to the draft timetable below;
– Commitment to ensuring a sustainable fundraising environment.
The first working party meeting is expected to take place in January 2008, with a draft Code being produced during summer 2009 and the Code publication taking place in 2010.
Those interested in becoming part of the working party need to submit their nominations to the Institute of Fundraising by 21 November 2008.
