Diabetes UK Type 1 Video – Press Release
Diabetes UK, the largest UK charity working for people with diabetes, has released a short, quirky film called ‘The Bendy Bus’ created to educate people about Type 1 diabetes.
The film tells the story from the perspective of school children on the bus and their reaction to one of them who needs to inject insulin. In showing some of the day to day issues people with the condition face it helps to dispel some of the myths and the common confusion with Type 2 diabetes.

The bendy bus project included a number of budding actors with Type 1 diabetes. It is part of the ‘My life’ initiative from Diabetes UK which offers information and support to young people with diabetes. You can help spread the message by downloading a link to the video onto your mobile phone by texting BUS to 84383. (The video is free however you will need a web enabled phone and standard network charges may apply).
Alternatively users are able to watch the Diabetes Type 1 Video on YouTube and other video sharing sites. Further videos including interviews with the actors and behind the scenes footage is also available online and on the Diabetes UK mobile internet site that has recently been set up for the project.
Information about Diabetes UK projects and initiatives are publicly available on the Diabetes UK Facebook page and via the new Diabetes UK Twitter account.
