St Dunstan’s launches Christmas DM campaign
St Dunstan’s current Christmas direct marketing appeal is targeting both warm and cold audiences with a campaign that highlights how the charity helps ex-Service people with serious sight problems regain their independence.
Created by TDA, the campaign focuses on the story of ‘St Dunstaner’ Tom Hart who was blinded in action during 1940. He received his first Braille book from St Dunstan’s that Christmas whilst being held as a prisoner of war and he explains how the gift lifted his spirits and gave him hope for the future.
Recipients are urged to pledge a Christmas gift to help the charity continue to provide lifelong support to people who have served and lost their sight.
“Tom’s story encapsulates the very essence of St Dunstan’s,” said Jamie Taylor, Senior Account Director at TDA. “It’s an honest and uplifting tale of how a young man took proactive steps to overcome his blindness with help from the charity. As the number of St Dunstaners increases year-on-year, further income is needed to ensure they all have access to the support they need.”
