The Rehab Foundation’s Great Investment Race, which has raised almost €860,000 for autism, was recently launched in Dublin.
The race sees teams of investment fund managers use their skill and knowledge to invest in funds on the stockmarket on behalf of Rehab. The initial capital investment was provided to Rehab by Atlantic Philanthropies, with each fund manager receiving a starting fund of €100,000 to invest for a year.
The 6th Race runs from November 2010 to October 2011 and sees teams from AIB Investment Managers, Irish Life Investment Managers, KBC Asset Management (soon to be Kleinwort Benson Investors subject to regulatory approval) Merrion Investment Managers, as well a team from Rehab, take part.
Last year’s Rehab Great Investment Race made a return of €267,000 on an initial investment of €100,000 and was won by Merrion Investment Managers. The overall profit from the fifth Great Investment Race was €163,000.
Devised and organised by Rehab Lotteries, the Rehab Great Investment Race has, since its inception in 2001, raised €860,000 for autistic children and their families in Ireland.
