Online fundraising platform JustGiving is now accepting nominations for its 2011 Awards, designed to celebrate the “outstanding individuals and organisations who have given their time, effort and money to charity through its website this year”.
Sponsored by PayPal, this is the second year of the annual awards. New award categories this year include Charity of the Year (People’s Choice) and Most Creative Charity of the Year.
Any of the 536,559 fundraising pages created on JustGiving between January and October 2010 are eligible for nomination. The Awards are free to enter and open to anyone who has used JustGiving to fundraise and every charity that is registered on the site.
Anne-Marie Huby, MD at JustGiving, said: “It is our community of fundraisers, donors and charities who inspire us to keep on innovating. The JustGiving Awards are our opportunity to celebrate all the people who do the most amazing, creative and downright crazy things in the name of charity.”
The award categories are: Young Fundraiser of the Year; Most Creative Fundraiser; Endurance Fundraiser of the Year; Fundraiser of the Year; Charity of the Year (People’s Choice); Most Creative Charity of the Year; Lifetime Achievement Award; Celebrity Fundraiser of the Year; Most Popular Fundraiser; and Most Successful Fundraiser.
Entries must be completed before 17 December 2010. A shortlist for each of the awards will be announced on Friday 20th January 2010. The ceremony will be held at the Emirates Stadium in London on 10th February 2011.
