Sam & Mark become Whizz-Kidz' first Patrons

Howard Lake | 28 April 2011 | News

Children’s TV presenters Sam Nixon and Mark Rhodes have become the first official patrons of Whizz-Kidz. The BAFTA nominated pair – better known as Sam & Mark – have been working with the charity since 2010.
Their fundraising and promotional activity has already included performing an exclusive tribute gig in aid of Mark’s late nephew (a beneficiary of Whizz-Kidz) and attending wheelchair skills training sessions and meeting young ambassadors. Rhodes ran the Virgin London Marathon for the charity in 2011. They will both be starting the charity’s Neon Nightwalk on 1 July.
Ruth Owen, Whizz-Kidz CEO said: “The celebrated pair are fantastic ambassadors for the charity, who have already done a great deal to raise awareness of our work supporting disabled young people – and have proved their fundraising credentials by raising almost £10,000 that will grant disabled children their independent mobility.
“Sam & Mark are firm favourites of many of the young people and families we work with, and represent the spirit of Whizz-Kidz; all kids deserve fun and full childhoods. We look forward to working much more closely with them both”.
