Give as you Live launches digital giving survey

Howard Lake | 13 September 2012 | News

Online fundraising site Give as you Live has launched a survey to find out more about how and why donors give online.
The Digital Donor Review is designed to help charities gain a better understanding of their online fundraising audience.
The review complements the company’s Digital Giving Review which it conducted earlier this year. This examined digital giving from the charity’s perspective, so the new review looks at it from the donor’s point of view.
Give as you Live is inviting charities to ask their donors to complete the survey. They will be asked how and why they give to charity using digital tools and channels. One respondent will win £5,000 for their charity.
Polly Gowers OBE, founder and CEO of Give as you Live, said that “One of the key findings from the first survey revealed that, although a charity’s offline audience is more or less equal size to its online audience (49% offline vs 51% online), 70% of all donations are received through offline channels. With so many ways to support charities, we are keen to hear from the donors themselves why they are not giving more online.”
