Charity Commission website

Well, the Charity Commission continues to improve its website. If you use the online contact form (for example, to request a copy of the governing document for a grantmaking trust), the Charity Commission now provides a summary of your enquiry when they send you an acknowledgement. Marvellous! It helps to keep track of any delays in dealing with enquiries.

The Charity Commission recently announced that they would no longer prioritise such requests from freelancers. Unfortunately that might mean that fundraisers must apply for these individually rather than being able to rely on information provided by The Trust List from newcharities.org or New Trust Update from Factary. I am surprised that they do not charge £1 per document as is the case with Companies House Direct.
