ResearchPlus publishes directory of 100+ grantmaking trusts

Howard Lake | 24 October 2013 | News

Prospect research specialists ResearchPlus have published a directory of 113 grant-making trusts.
All of them are registered with the Charity Commission of England and Wales but none of them yet appear in the Directory of Social Change’s Trustfunding website. As such, they should be less well-known than many other grantmaking trusts.
All of them have received substantial donations, according to ResearchPlus’ Finbar Cullen. Usually these gifts have been made by the settlors/trustees. They range from £100,000 to £300 milllion. Most of the substantial donations were made, says Cullen, between 2011 and 2013.
Each entry in the report includes information, where possible, on trust name, registered number, connected company, correspondent, address, telephone, fax, website, email, trustees, donation year ending, highest donation, donation details, wealth level, wealth information, charitable interests, area of benefit, grants year ending, total grants, grants, assets, application process, and other notes.
The Directory of (100+) grant-making trusts costs £115 for freelancer researchers. It is available to non-profit organisations for £100. Non-profit organisations with an annual income of less that £5,000,000 can apply to buy it for £85. There is no VAT.
The report comes as a searchable PDF, but with editing or copying prevented. It is available for the purchasing organisation only, and will be marked as such.
