The Vodafone Foundation Ireland’s World of Difference grant programme is open for applications until 8th September 2014.
The World of Difference programme supports ‘social innovators’ by providing a year’s salary to work for the charity of their choice for a year. The charity in question has to have a youth focus.
Since 2007 the Vodafone Foundation has provided over €1 million for selected charities and has given 65 people the opportunity to spend a year with their chosen charities to work on a wide variety of projects.
In late September 20 candidates will be shortlisted for the programme with four winners announced on 22nd October. Successful candidates can take up their roles in the charity a month later.
Each winner’s salary will be provided to the particular supervising charity by the Vodafone Foundation to the gross amount of €40,000. Each winner’s supervising charity will also have access to a capped expense account to put towards the winner’s employment expenses, including travel.
The 2013 participants in World of Difference were the Soar Foundation, ReachOut.com, Irish Men’s Sheds, St John of God Menni Services and Le Cheile.
