JustGiving unveils crowdfunding tool for charities

Howard Lake | 8 April 2015 | News

Online and social giving platform JustGiving has announced a new tool that will let charities launch crowdfunding campaigns to support a particular cause, project or appeal.
JustGiving Campaigns can be used to create customised appeals in aid of time-critical campaigns and projects. It is currently inviting registrations from charities wishing to use the tool.
Individuals and community groups have already been able to use JustGiving’s Yimby crowdfunding tool. JustGiving Campaigns now extends a similar opportunity to registered charities.
JustGiving Campaigns has been developed in consultation with over 30 charities. As well as accepting donations it will enable individuals to fundraise in aid of the campaign or appeal.
Sally Falvey, Head of Charity Marketing for JustGiving, said:

“JustGiving Campaigns allows charities of all sizes to instantly launch a crowdfunding campaign and harness the power of the crowd to fund a particular appeal or project. And with our social technology we can intelligently connect Campaigns with people we know will care about their cause – helping charities to reach more people, inspire more giving and ultimately raise more money.”

Since 2001 JustGiving has been used by 22 million people to raise more than $3 billion for good causes across 164 countries.
