Last chance to apply for Lidl Community Works

Melanie May | 11 May 2016 | News

Community groups across Northern Ireland have until 13th May to apply for help from Lidl Community Works.
This year’s Community Works is looking for 33 winners, and features a food theme to mark 2016 being the Northern Ireland Year of Food & Drink. Now in its third year, Lidl Community Works has so far helped more than 600 community groups across the province. Last year it invested £250,000 in helping community groups and projects.
Chef and Lidl ambassador Ian Orr will visit each of the 33 winning groups to take part in a cooking element to help raise funds. The Lidl Community Crew will also be out on the road, visiting events, runner-up groups and local Lidl stores.

Customers across Northern Ireland are being invited to nominate community groups and projects in their local area that could benefit from Lidl’s support by downloading a nomination form from www.lidl-ni.co.uk or calling into a local Lidl Store to pick up a copy. Entries must be posted in the Community Works Nomination Box in all stores by 8pm on Friday 13th May.
Conor Boyle, regional director at Lidl Northern Ireland said:

“We have 38 stores across the province and we are dedicated to helping support those local areas whether it’s by providing jobs, working with local suppliers or investing in clubs and projects. We want to give back to everyone who has supported us faithfully since we opened our first store in Cookstown almost 20 years ago.”
