Is major donor fundraising looking for new prospects under threat?

Howard Lake | 30 January 2017 | Blogs

I hope things will become clearer and reassuring after the Information Commissioner’s Office invitation-only event in Manchester in February.
It has been suggested that maybe we can’t research and report on new prospects as we would not have their consent to do so. Take a look at Chris Carnie’s recent blogs.
I would like to know what sort of enthusiasm have MPs, members  of the House of Lords, etc., shown for previous fundraising campaigns, which involved attracting new prospects? For example, there must have been plenty of fundraisers who have used the House of Lords as a venue for new prospects. There have surely been “Big Society” cheerleaders congratulating successful major donor campaigns which encouraged new supporters to muck in.
