The GC Gibson Charitable Trust, the King Charles III Charitable Fund’s small grants, and Leeds Hospital Charity’s research funding are all feature in this month’s round-up of funding that has been announced or which closes in August 2025.

G C Gibson Charitable Trust

The GC Gibson Charitable Trust is inviting grant applications from UK-registered charities with an income up to £1 million working in the areas of education, social inclusion, and physical and mental health. The work can be in the UK or overseas.

Ten grants of up to £5,000 each are available.

The GC Gibson Charitable trust was established in 1968 by George Gibson by a grant of shares in his Cardiff-based shipping business Atlantic Shipping.

The fund today is worth £16 million. The trustees are the grandchildren of George.

The deadline for applications is 31 August 2025.

In addition the trust gives regularly to 200 or so other charities, but priority for support is given to charities that the trustees have previously worked with.

King Charles III Charitable Fund offers small grants

The King Charles III Charitable Fund Small Grants Programme is open again. Each year it awards up to £3,000 per year for up to three years to around 100 UK registered charities each year.

The small grants programme supports environment and countryside projects and activities.

The last round for applications to the King Charles III Charitable Fund ran until midday on 20 August 2025.

Leeds Hospital Charity: research funding

Leeds Hospital Charity is offering research funding for improving outcomes in mental health for children young people.

Applications are invited that will have a direct impact on children and young people aged 0-18 treated at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust for mental health conditions or medically unexplained symptoms.

Applications are limited to Leeds Teaching Hospitals staff, which includes those employed by academic partners such as The University of Leeds who have an honorary contact at LTHT.

Grants of between £10,001 and £100,000 are available.

Applications must include collaboration and psychiatry input.

Applicants must work in partnership on their research project with Leeds & York Partnership Foundation Trust and/or Child, Adolescent, Mental Health Services and will need psychiatry input to meet the terms of the donation.

Expressions of interest in Research Funding: Improving Outcomes in Mental Health for Children & Young People aged 0-18 must be received by 25 August 2025.
