WaterAid receives £245 from online auction of Glastonbury mud

Howard Lake | 9 July 2004 | News

WaterAid confirmed that where there’s muck there’s brass when it received £245 from an online auction of a lump of mud from the Glastonbury Festival.

In fact, the lump of mud was sold on eBay for £490, with “westboy22”, the seller, donating half of the sum to WaterAid. The decision to make the donation followed the sudden surge in interest in Glastonbury mud on eBay. Even now there are 28 other lots of the stuff for sale on the site.
