British Red Cross launches Hurricane Ivan crisis appeal

Howard Lake | 12 September 2004 | News

The British Red Cross has launched an emergency appeal to help people in the Caribbean affected by the devastation of Hurricane Ivan, the category five hurricane that is still causing damage in the region.

Two thirds of the island of Grenada’s population was made homeless last week by the effects of the hurricane, the sixth most powerful storm to affect the Atlantic basin according to the National Hurricane Center.

The British Red Cross offers four ways of donating to the appeal: online, phone, cheque, and local Red Cross shop.
