Amazon.com's online total passes $6 million

Amazon.com has handled $6,237,381.12 in online donations via its site for the American Red Cross’s work in the wake of the South Asian floods appeal.

The total was given in 96,161 donations via Amazon.com’s Honor System. Amazon.com is waiving its usual commission on such gifts.

It reached the $5 million mark at midday on 30 December.
