Institute of Fundraising to add interactivity to its website

The Institute of Fundraising is about to introduce new features to its website offering interactive services to its membership for the first time.

The first new service will be an online discussion forum that will act as a “professional development centre” for fundraisers. Part of Careerbank, the Institute’s professional development initiative, the forum will be open both to the Institute’s members and to non-members.

The Institute says that the forum will enable “fundraisers to ‘meet’ online and discuss the fundraising profession and their own career progression.

Other new features include a news section on the site, allowing members for the first time to “access up-to-the-minute information on what is going on at the Institute and our various work streams.” To date, the site has not featured any clearly designated news page, with comments and reports on issues such as the Buse Commission, the Charities Bill, and the response to the tsunami appeals appearing on different parts of the front page.

In March the Institute will launch its first dedicated website for its National Convention.

The Institute of Fundraising first published its website in 2000.
