Justgiving reaches one million online donors mark

One million people have made an online donation through Justgiving since the website went live in 2001.
Almost £40 million has been raised online for 1,200 charities by one million donors making a donation or sponsoring a friend at Justgiving. Almost £25 million of that total has been donated in 2005 alone.
More than 100,000 people have used the site to build a personal fundraising page to collect donations for a sponsored event or personal appeal.

Justgiving was launched in 2001 by its CEO, former City lawyer Zarine Kharas, and Managing Director Anne-Marie Huby, who was previously executive director of Médecins Sans Frontières UK.
