The UK charity press is reporting on the Master Class and How-to Workshop run by UK Fundraising’s Howard Lake and Christoph Brocks of the German Charities Institute at last month’s International Fund Raising Workshop.
The current issue of Professional Fundraising reports (“New millennium, new methods”, Professional Fundraising, November 1998, p.12) on the how-to workshop that explained how fundraisers could use e-mail as an efficient and effective tool, particularly when linked to a database-driven Web site. “E-mail appeals are still in their infancy, but getting your message across to potential donors by electronic means is one of the cheapest and quickest options, they said”, wrote Professional Fundraising.
Third Sector also reported on the joint Master Class, in particular on the “ground-breaking e-mail appeal underway in Switzerland [which] has achieved a response rate of 10 per cent.” (“Ground-breaking Swiss e-mail”, Third Sector, 12 November 1998, p12)
