Children’s Heart Surgery Fund now operates with thankQ

Children’s Heart Surgery Fund (CHSF) is the award winning charity supporting the Children’s Heart Surgery Unit and Paediatric Intensive Care Unit at Leeds General Infirmary. The charity raises money to help the children’s heart unit provide care for its young patients and their families by providing funding for up-to-date equipment and facilities, providing accommodation, advice and support for children and their families, funding staff positions and training plus supporting research projects.

CHSF works closely with individuals, families, schools, community groups and corporate organisations to facilitate fundraising opportunities to fulfil its charitable aims.

CHSF approached thankQ in July 2013 to provide a system which would be cost-effective, easy to use and which would allow the organisation to adopt a single CRM solution that could manage all its relationships across a broad range of digital platforms. thankQ provides integration with a number of  platforms where the organisation and its supporters are particularly active, including social media sites Facebook and Twitter and online fundraising site, JustGiving.

Website integration also allows the organisation to accept online donations and event bookings which are captured directly into the thankQ CRM system, whilst integration with third party bulk email provider MailChimp, pushes contact data from thankQ into MailChimp and pulls email tracking data back into thankQ, giving CHSF a single view of all campaign activity and effectiveness.

thankQ will of course also be helping CHSF manage its core business activities and is providing modules to help CHSF manage events, handle all types of donations including legacies and in memory as well as providing a simple volunteer module.

The thankQ implementation included data transfer from CHSF’s existing Harlequin CRM database.

Sharon Cheng, Charity Director at CHSF said of the selection, ‘to provide the best support and facilities for the young people and families we serve, we need to raise significant sums of money in the most cost effective way we can. Digital marketing is a vital tool for us as it provides a cheap and effective way of reaching our supporters. thankQ has given us exactly the functionality we need to effectively reach, record, engage and develop supporter data from multiple digital platforms all within a single centralised system’.
