Guest experts confirmed for Fundraising Camp Chichester

Howard Lake | 12 March 2015 | News

Fundraising Camp Chichester this month has attracted a number of guest experts to help ensure that the wide-ranging fundraising discussions can benefit from experience and expertise.

Fundraising Camp Chichester returns to the Bognor Regis campus of the University of Chichester on 24 March, one year on from its first outing there.

The one-day event is unlike other one-day conferences for fundraisers, in that there are no set topics or speakers. The fundraisers who come to the day do so with the expectation that they can propose topics of discussion that matter to them. The day is then divided into a whole series of practical 30 minute sessions focusing on fundraising ideas, opportunities and challenges.

Guest experts

From the beginning of the Fundraising Camp series, a range of guest experts have been invited to ensure that the event has a range of experienced fundraisers, grantmakers, donors or business people able to contribute their insight to these conversations.

At Fundraising Camp Chichester, these guests include:

Darran Fawcett joined Thomas Eggar in 1990 and as trust manager is responsible for the administration, accounting and taxation of approximately 1,000 trusts. As a result, whilst not a trustee, he has gained an insight into how trustees consider appeal applications and the information that is useful to enable trustees to make a decision. Darran is also treasurer for the Sussex branch of STEP. (find out more about Darren here ).

Adelle Scott is Head of Communications & Fundraising at The Body Shop Foundation, responsible for strategically developing and implementing the fundraising and communication strategies and activities. The Body Shop Foundation is funded through the sale of a charity product sold globally in the stores of The Body Shop and through various Foundation run fundraising activities. This allows the Foundation to run three different grants programmes – addressing issues on animal protection, human rights and environmental protection around the world.

Juliet Stallard is Head of Fundraising and Marketing at The Queen Alexandra Hospital Home, and Freelance Fundraiser. From ‘shop floor’ through to senior management roles, Juliet holds a successful fundraising track record with over 13 years’ experience in the Third Sector. A fully certified member of the Institute of Fundraising (IoF) with Diploma; MInstF(Dip), Juliet now aspires to share experiences and knowledge with charities who need support and guidance with fundraising and strategic development.

Free feedback on ‘case for support’ documents

Juliet is proposing to run a session at Fundraising Camp in which she will examine and share advice on charities’ ‘case for support’ documents. If you would like to have her share her advice on your charity’s case for support, do contact her before the event. She will provide feedback on up to three documents at the event.

Fundraising Camp Chichester takes place with support from the University of Chichester and Blackbaud on 24 March 2015 from 09.30 – 4pm. It is open to all kinds of charities and organisations, but proves particular popular with smaller and medium-sized organisations. Tickets are still available.

It takes place at The Dome, University of Chichester, Bognor Regis Campus.
