Atlantic provides grants to promote philanthrophy

The Atlantic Philanthrophies has given two grants to help promote philanthropy in Ireland. Described as ‘out-of’programme’ grants, one will support an annual lecture promoting philanthrophy while the other grant will provide core funding for an organisation working to improve the tax regime for charitable giving.
Philanthrophy Ireland, the association of grant making trusts in Ireland, has been given ‚€130,000 over 10 years for the Ray Murphy Memorial Lecture. Ray Murphy was a key figure in philanthrophy in Ireland and the USA and worked with Atlantic Philanthropies in its early days in Ireland.
An award of ‚€250,000 over 4 years for core funding was made to Irish Charities Tax Reform Ltd which campaigns to make the Irish tax system more favourable for charitable giving.

Out-of-programme grants refer to grants not in the Atlantic Philanthropies core giving programme which supports Ageing, Disadvantaged Children and Youth, Population Health and Reconciliation and Human Rights.
