Fisk Brett relaunches its Progress CRM database

Howard Lake | 6 November 2006 | Newswire

ProgressCRM is the new name for the entire product range”
Fisk Brett has just revealed its latest developments in Progress, its integrated contact management software for not-for-profits.
”The new branding as ProgressCRM is evolution, not revolution,” says Managing Director Robin Fisk, but there is a significant change to all the core software, the interfaces, and the additional functionality modules, all under the one ProgressCRM brand”.
So what is the new ‘ProgressCRM’
ProgressCRM is the new name for the entire CRM product,” explains Robin Fisk. Not only the core application, but its user interfaces, its functionality modules, and its add-in tools”
”For the large enterprise, there’s the ProgressCRM Enterprise Edition. It’s simply the best product, using the best technology, implemented through industry-leading project management methodology, and with appropriate service levels and customer care”.
The Enterprise edition is for 20+ users in NFP organisations with up to 10million contact names and transactions. Based on Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Enterprise edition, it has flexible licensing to encourage rollout. It comes with many features included, such as the processor license for the Browser and Web Services interfaces, and a range of functionality modules.
For the mid-market, there’s the ProgressCRM Standard Edition. Again it’s the best product with the best technology, but with an affordable entry point and a clear upgrade path. Fisk Brett believes the ‘mid-market’ to be organisations up to 20 users, with up to 250,000 contact names and transactions. This too has flexible licensing to encourage rollout.
To complement the core application and its functionality, customers can further customise ProgressCRM with a number of optional interfaces, functionality modules and add-ins.
.
What is Fisk Brett’s product strategy?
”We could write loads more code to be ‘ultra-functional’ like some other developers are doing” explained Robin Fisk, but we decided that integration is the right way forward – to focus on technologically superior products with outstanding integration capabilities. ProgressCRM is the ‘best-of-breed’ database product that can easily integrate with other ‘best’ applications and with the web.”
The company’s technology strategy was to base development on Microsoft .NET. In fact, ProgressCRM has been dot Net based for over two years” revealed Robin. It provides proven support for building web based applications and services, and enables improvements in productivity, installation and deployment. And better security.”
Robin explained how ProgressCRM’s architecture is future proof. The ProgressCRM range of applications is built in ASP.NET, based on Microsoft’s SQL Server 2005 and its Internet Information Server- IIS, and it’s XML-enabled for web services.”
New products announced for ProgressCRM include a new Windows interface with an updated look & feel for easier management of people and addresses; a new Browser Interface to enable contact management via a web browser; a Web Services Interface adding the functionality of ProgressCRM to other applications; and Reporting Services to deliver ProgressCRM information on the web.
