Cats Protection targets 'friends' with Christmas message

Cats Protection is launching a warm appeal that thanks donors for their support during the year and highlights the pressing need for extra funds around Christmas.
TDA has devised the campaign which is intended to resonate both emotionally and rationally with donors. It celebrates the number of cats that have been given brighter futures but also explains why the winter puts a heightened demand on the charity.
Feedback indicates that Cats Protection’s supporters eagerly anticipate their Christmas thank you gift. This year, a concept involving festive place setting cards will be tested against the Advent calendar concept that has worked powerfully for the past three years.
Our Christmas appeal has two aims – to consolidate support with a thank you and to encourage an extra one-off gift, or an upgraded monthly donation,” said Janet Wickens, Head of Fundraising and Communications at Cats Protection. As well as providing the ‘ahh’ factor for supporters who simply love all things cats, we are explicit about the urgent need for extra funds at this time of year.”
“We want donors to feel that their support is valued and makes a difference while reinforcing the ongoing need for help”, said Sarah Don-Bramah, Account Director at TDA. “The Advent calendar concept has been hugely successful in the past, but we want to build on this and find ways to motivate a greater number of people to give more to the charity at Christmas.”
