Institute Announces Awards of Fellowship

The Trustees of the Institute of Fundraising (‘Institute’) are delighted to announce the election of four Fellows, including the first award of an honorary Fellowship – to Andrew Watt – in ten years. Fellowship of the Institute is an honour that recognises substantial contribution to both fundraising and the Institute. The new Fellows are as follows:
Andrew Watt FInstF
Honorary Fellowship has been awarded to Andrew Watt, who is Vice President International Development at the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) in the USA. Andrew was formerly Director of Policy at the Institute and was responsible for fostering positive strategic relationships with Government, putting fundraising higher up the political agenda.
Hugh McCaw FInstF
Hugh is Chief Executive of OnLine Telephone Fundraising. He was a founding member of the Institute’s North West Region and held office both as Chair and Treasurer. Hugh was elected a Trustee of the Institute in 2002 and served a three-year term representing the needs of regional and grassroots fundraisers.
Fiona Duncan FinstF
Fiona is currently a Senior Consultant for Think Consultancy. Fiona was previously Director of External Affairs at Capability Scotland and had a pivotal role in the Giving Scotland Campaign, which helped improve public confidence in charities. Additionally an active member of the Institute of Fundraising Scotland, Fiona served on the Training Committee and was Chair for two and a half years.
Simon Burne FInstF
Simon is a Senior Consultant for Think Consultancy. He was previously Director of Fundraising at NCH and Acorn Children’s Hospice. Simon was a Trustee of the Institute for six years, Chair of the Institute from 2003 to 2005 and an active member of the Institute’s Convention Board for a number of years.
Richard Radcliffe, Chair of Fellows at the Institute of Fundraising says: Many congratulations to Andrew, Hugh, Fiona and Simon. Their cumulative achievement is significant, constituting a great contribution to the Institute, and to the fundraising profession as a whole.”
