Howard Lake | 11 June 2007 | Newswire

In four weeks’ time, the Institute of Fundraising’s (‘Institute’) National Convention 2007 will be held in London. The National Convention is an annual event targeted at fundraisers, public relations, communications, marketing and policy professionals, alongside top-level management and CEOs working in charities, arts, health and education organisations across the UK.
Delivering innovative, inspiring and transferable knowledge, highlights of National Convention 2007 include:
· Over 140 workshops, divided between nine specialist tracks, for beginner, experienced and senior
· Three Focus On sessions, offering in-depth knowledge on a specific topic
· Specialist management training for senior fundraisers in partnership with Henley Management College
· Chief Executives’ Day, designed to increase awareness of fundraising amongst leaders in the sector
· Opening plenaries from Emma Freud (for Comic Relief), Caroline Hamilton, Ade Adepitan MBE
· The first ever National Awards, providing fundraisers with an opportunity for peer-to-peer recognition
· The Fundraisers Are Forever party, a chance to transform yourself into one of MI6’s finest
Now in its eighteenth year, the National Convention is the major date in the fundraising calendar. Over 2,000 people attended in 2005, making it the largest gathering of fundraisers outside of the USA.
Kirsty Thomson, Head of Events at the Institute of Fundraising, says:
There are still places available at this year’s National Convention – don’t miss your opportunity to network with over 2,000 fundraising practitioners and to debate the trends and broader issues affecting charities.”
