Guide Dogs Fundraiser is Winner of Prize Draw

Howard Lake | 25 July 2007 | Newswire

The winner of the Institute of Fundraising’s recent prize draw – coinciding with the launch of its new website – is today announced as Nikki Holland, Senior District Fundraiser (East Anglia and Greater London) at Guide Dogs. Nikki’s prize is a year’s free membership and pass to all three days of National Convention 2008, as well as attendence at an Institute one-day conference of her choice.
Nikki is to celebrate her 10th anniversary at Guide Dogs on 17th August. Initially employed by the charity to care for its dogs, Nikki’s hands on experience and client contact inspired her to become a fundraiser for the charity. Also working for a time in the charity’s volunteering department, Nikki is due to take up her new role as Senior District Fundraiser (East Anglia and Greater London) at Guide Dogs on 1st September.
On winning her prize – worth over £1,000 – Nikki Holland comments:
I’m delighted to win this prize, particularly as I prepare for my new role in Guide Dogs’ fundraising team.
It costs £10 a day to breed, train and support each of the 4,600 guide dogs in the UK and as the charity relies on voluntary donations to finance its services, to be at the heart of fundraising is a challenge I relish.”
Lindsay Boswell, Chief Executive of the Institute of Fundraising, says:
Many congratulations to Nikki! I hope she is able to make full use of her membership – and enjoys attending next year’s National Convention and her chosen one-day conference.”
