10 Christmas corporate fundraising partnerships

Christmas is fast approaching, so here’s news of 10 corporate partnerships raising funds for good causes across the UK over the festive season.

Sainsbury’s & FareShare

Sainsbury’s annual ‘Help Brighten a Million Christmases’ initiative is back again this year, with every donation being matched by the supermarket up to the value of £1.5 million. Between 1-24 December, customers can donate physical products in store, or donate money at the checkout. Every £1 customer donation provides the equivalent of two hot meals, so once matched by Sainsbury’s, each £1 donated could help feed four people in need.  To ensure those who need it most receive food, this year Sainsbury’s is working with FareShare and other charity partners across the UK to distribute donations.

Paperchase & Sightsavers

Since Christmas 2018, Sightsavers’ Christmas card partnership with Paperchase has raised over £33,000 to support its work in low- and middle-income countries to protect sight, treat and eliminate neglected tropical diseases and campaign for equal rights for people with disabilities. This year’s card features a comical grumpy looking cat in Father Christmas clothing, and 50p from every pack sold will be donated to our cause, helping us move towards our vision of a world where no one is blind from avoidable causes, and where people with disabilities can participate equally in society.


HELLO! magazine & Teenage Cancer Trust

HELLO! magazine and  Teenage Cancer Trust have launched a Christmas fundraising appeal. In the 22 November edition of HELLO! magazine four young people the charity supports share their  stories with Teenage Cancer Trust’s Honorary Patrons, Their Royal Highnesses Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, and their mother Sarah, Duchess of York. Abigail, 13, Aimee, 16, Mariam, 19, and Egon, 27, met with and explained to the trio how Teenage Cancer Trust funded nurses, youth teams and special hospital units have supported them every step of the way through treatment. HELLO! readers are being asked to donate to Teenage Cancer Trust this Christmas with the appeal iset to run until 4 January 2022. 


Hamleys & GOSH Charity

Hamleys has announced a Christmas partnership with Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity (GOSH Charity), including the launch of a limited edition run of 1500 Hamleys x GOSH Bears, with £16 from the sale of every bear donated to the charity. Hamleys will also be delivering exclusive in-store experiences and raising funds for the charity with the installation of a Tap to Donate machine. To launch the charity partnership, Hamleys hosted a private in-store event for children treated by GOSH and their families, and other beneficiaries. Hamleys has also revealed a special installation on the Ground Floor of their Regent Street store, showcasing a giant Christmas tree dressed to the theme of the new GOSH Charity Christmas animation, ‘One Step Closer to Home’.


Thortful & 4 charities

This Christmas greetings card marketplace thortful is partnering with four charities for it’s first ever charity Christmas card collection. thortful are working with four amazing charities very close to their hearts; Voyage Youth, Evesham Greyhound and Lurcher Rescue, Dementia Adventure, & Heart Research UK. For every pack of A6 cards sold thortful will donate 5p to these four charities.


Virgin Red & charity partners

This December, Virgin Red, Virgin’s rewards programme, will match all points earned on train tickets and gift them to its 13 partner charities as a cash donation.   As examples, for Guide Dogs, 1,000 points could provide a training toy for a future life-changing guide dog or 5,000 points could fund one puppy class. For Cancer Research UK, 1,000 points could buy plastic test tubes, or 5,000 points could buy protective equipment for scientists.


Conifox Adventure Park & Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity

Conifox Adventure Park has donated a 20ft Christmas tree to Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity (ECHC) for the new hospital’s first festive season, at the city’s Royal Hospital for Children and Young People. The Nordmann fir is now providing a dazzling Yuletide welcome for visitors and patients, having been illuminated by Joey Sharp, 11 months, who was diagnosed with a brain tumour at 12 days old, at a special Christmas lights switch-on ceremony on Sunday, 28 November.

Deliveroo, The Felix Project & FareShare

Deliveroo has teamed up with Britain’s Got Talent finalist and funnyman Kojo Anim, to launch a range of charity Christmas crackers called ‘Crackers Cracking Hunger’, to help provide meals for families in need. Inside the crackers, people will find a Christmas hat and a joke written by the comedian. Each box of six crackers costs £10, all of which will be donated to The Felix Project and FareShare, providing the equivalent of a week of meals for a UK household in need. Deliveroo’s charity Christmas crackers are available to purchase across the UK from Deliveroo Editions via the app or website from 29 November until sold out.

O2 & The Big Issue

O2 and The Big Issue have announced a partnership that will set up over 200 of the magazine’s vendors each month with free data plans. This will include 7GB of data, a free sim, unlimited calls and texts, enabling vendors to make cashless sales, access essential online services and stay connected. The partnership comes as part of the National Databank initiative launched by O2 and Good Things Foundation. For every plan the network sells this Christmas, O2 will in turn donate 10GB of data to the Databank, which Databank is designed to support O2’s data pledge to get more than 255,000 people living in poverty connected by the end of 2023.


MacKnade & Porchlight

Food and drink expert, the Kent-based MacKnade has teamed up with Porchlight this Christmas. The partnership, running until 1 January, sees Macknade make a £5 donation to Porchlight, for every order purchased through its online Christmas shop during this time.  The funds, which will be transferred to the charity at regular intervals throughout the campaign, could help towards the cost of a Christmas lunch for someone living in a Porchlight property, or fund an essential check in, to keep someone in the Kent community off the streets.
