Donate Mobile's affinity programme offers 10% of customers' fees to charities

Mobile phone service provider Donate Mobile has launched its affinity service for charities, offering to donate 10% of customers’ monthly mobile expenditure to their chosen charity.
The company says that this should represent a regular monthly donation of around £2 per month from each customer.
In addition Donate Mobile will let charities send news and other messages, including appeals and event promotions, to the mobile phones of those of their supporters who switch to the service. They can also send messages of thanks telling customers exactly how much they have raised and the ways in which their donations will help.
Donate Mobile’s service also includes text giving and a donation app.
The service was launched to charities at this week’s Institute of Fundraising National Convention. It will be launched to consumers later in the year.
Mark Brunwin, CEO of Donate Mobile said: ‘Through Donate Mobile, charities can reach both established regular givers and new supporters with personal and targeted messages. People are relying on their mobile phones for information like never before and there is a real opportunity for charities to use our service to deepen their relationship with donors. We are calling for charities to sign up to Donate Mobile now so that they are in a position to start benefiting from the scheme immediately when we launch to the public later this year.’
