Ulster Bank enables charitable donations at ATMs

The Ulster Bank has become the first bank in Ireland to enable its customers donate to charities at any of its ATMs in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
Customers will be able to donate between €1 and €250 to one of eight charities. There will be no service charges or transaction fees.
The charities are: Rehab; Barnardos; Irish Cancer Society; Concern Worldwide; Irish Heart Foundation; Irish Hospice Foundation; Society of Saint Vincent de Paul and the Simon Communities of Ireland.

Pauline McKiernan, Community Affairs Manager, Ulster Bank Group, said: “Customers will see the option “Donate to a Charity” clearly displayed on the same screen as other options like “Cash Withdrawal” and “Pay Bill”.
“By selecting the charity option, the screen prompts customers to select a donation amount, their chosen charity and, once these are confirmed, the transaction is complete. Customers can also print their donation receipt”.
